I’m praying for you this morning as you work, parent and live in this city that God has brought each of us to. I hope you can join us this week for our Bible reflection on Psalm 23.
Here are some of the highlights from this week’s study:
The Lord is my sheperd, I shall not be in want. How might you rephrase that to fit into our life here in Hong Kong?
I will fear no evil, writes David. This calm confidence is sung while he is in the the valley of the shadow of death. Think of a dark time in your life. How could you find comfort in the Lord?
Thy rod and they staff, they comfort me. What did it mean for David to find comfort in God’s rod and staff? What do they represent? What does it mean for us?
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. The author brings us to look at Romans 8:35 and 37 which say, Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. He finishes saying, NOTHING can separate us from the love of God.
What I see here is the phrase all the days of my life as well as the phrase IN all these things not the removeal of all these things.
So how is it we can dwell in this love that can not be taken away?
Please come and meet with our small groups this Thursday to discuss these amazing truths.
